Ong Kim Seng BBM AWS DF NWS is a Singaporean artist of international status.  He was President of the Singapore Watercolor Society from 1991 to 2001.  He is currently Honorary President, in which capacity he interacts with other watercolor organisations internationally.  He has won eight  awards from the American Watercolor Society (AWS): the Paul B. Remmy Memorial Award in 1983, the Lucy B. Moore Award in 1988, the Clara Stroud Memorial Award in 1989, the Barse Miller Memorial Award in 1992, Winsor & Newton Award in 2000 ,the Ida Wells Memorial Award in 2001 ,the Winsor and Newton Award in 2010 and the Frederick Wong Award  from the AWS in 2015.  He has been an active member of the American Watercolor Society since 1990 and was the first Asian outside the U.S.A. to be awarded membership.  Kim Seng was bestowed the Dolphin Fellowship of the AWS in 2000.

王金成(新加坡公共服務星章、AWS、DF、NWS會員)為享譽國際之新加坡藝術家。曾於1991至2001年間擔任新加坡水彩畫會理事長,現為榮譽理事長,並藉此與國際上其他水彩相關社團交流。他曾得過美國水彩畫協會八座獎項:1983年的保羅B.雷米紀念獎、1988年的露西B.摩爾獎、1989年的克萊拉史卓德紀念獎、1992年的巴斯米勒紀念獎、2000年的溫瑟暨紐頓獎、2001年的伊達威利斯紀念獎、2010年的溫瑟暨紐頓獎及2015年的斐德列克王獎。自1990年成為美國水彩畫協會首位美國境外之華人會員以來,便積極參與該會事務。王金成也於2000年榮獲美國水彩畫協會之海豚獎學金。

In 1991, he was awarded the Cultural Medallion for Visual Arts by the Ministry Of Information and the Arts, Singapore.  He won the Excellence for Singapore award presented by the Singapore Totalisator Board in 2000 , the Singapore Internationale by the Singapore International Foundation in 2001 and  the 2001 Arts Supporter Award presented by the National Arts Council. In 2004 he was conferred the Singapore National Day Award ,  the Public Service Star BINTANG BAKTI MASYARAKAT ( BBM) by the President of the Republic of Singapore , H.E. Mr S.R Nathan.

1991年,新加坡通訊及新聞部頒予王金成文化獎章。2000年時新加坡賽馬博彩管理局頒予新加坡卓越獎,2001年新加坡國際基金會頒予新加坡國際獎,2001年則收到新加坡國家藝術理事會的藝術愛好者獎項。2004年榮獲新加坡國慶獎,由時任新加坡總統納丹頒贈公共服務星章。

Ong Kim Seng was Organizing Chairman of Asian Watercolors '97 Singapore, the first international watercolor exhibition to be held in Singapore.  He was also the Vice-Chairman of SINGAPORE ART 97.  He has been an Art Advisor to the National Arts

Council since 1998 and is a Life Fellow of the National University of Singapore's Centre of the Arts. IN 2009 was appointed as regional committee member of the UNESCO in preservation of monuments committee for Singapore till now  . In 2010 he was appointed as judge and planner of the Shanghai Zhujiajiao International Watercolor  Biennale 2010 in conjunction with the Shanghai World Expo .   In 2004 he was the Artist-in-Residence at the Singapore Tyler Print Institute.  He participates in many workshops and is an inspiration for local visual artists. 2014 he was represented in the World Watermedia Exposition in Thailand  and later in the Amitlight International Watercolor Inivitational exhibition in Zhongshan , China .

王金成為1997年新加坡亞洲水彩畫展籌委會主席,該展為新加坡首次承辦之國際水彩展覽。也曾擔任新加坡藝術97之副主席。自1998年以來,他便擔任新加坡國家藝術理事會的藝術顧問一職,也是新加坡國立大學藝術中心終身會員。2009年由聯合國教科文組織指定為新加坡古蹟保存委員會之區域委員,服務至今。2010年,擔任2010年上海朱家角國際水彩畫雙年展與上海世界博覽會之評審及策展人。2004年他在新加坡泰勒印刷學院進行藝術家駐村計畫。2014年代表出席泰國的世界水彩博覽會,之後亦參與中國的【流光溢彩】中山國際水彩名家邀請展。

In 1993 his work Bhaktapur was the first Singapore watercolour painting to be auctioned by Sotheby's in Hong Kong.  In March 1994, his work 'Bali" was auctioned by Christie's in Singapore.  His works are now auctioned annually in Singapore and the region. An ardent trekker, Kim Seng has visited the Tianshan region of Sinkiang in China, the Himalayas in Nepal and the Tibetan Plateau many times to trek and paint. Painting auctioned in June 2017 at Sotheby’s Hong Kong for  U.S $95,457.00 ( double the estimate value of the painting )

1993年,他的作品《巴克塔布》成為香港蘇富比拍賣的首幅新加坡水彩畫作。今日他的作品在新加坡及區域內年年上到拍賣會之中。王金成熱衷於徒步旅行,曾多次造訪中國新疆的天山地區、尼泊爾的喜馬拉雅山及西藏高原地區徒步旅行與作畫。2017年六月於香港蘇富比拍賣之畫作價值為95,457美元(為該畫作估值之兩倍)。

His collectors include Queen Elizabeth II of England, the Prime Minister of the People's Republic Of China, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, President of the Republic of Korea, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, the President of the Republic of the Philippines, the Prime Minister of Japan, the President and the Prime Minister of India, the Governer of Hokkaido, Singapore Art Museum, Singapore Maritime Museum, the Agung Rai Museum and Neka Museum in Bali, Indonesia, etc.

收藏王金成作品之收藏家包括英國女王伊莉莎白二世、中華人民共和國總理、聯合國秘書長、大韓民國總統、泰國總理、菲律賓總統、日本首相、印度總統與總理、北海道知事、新加坡美術館、新加坡海事博物館、印尼峇里島的阿貢拉伊藝術博物館及奈卡美術館等。

Ong Kim Seng’s works have been published in eight books in America and China.  He was Founding Editor - South East Asia for International Artists and articles on his works have appeared in the first issue of the magazine in June 1998 and in many other art magazines.

王金成之作品曾登上美國及中國的八本刊物。他是《東南亞國際藝術家》之創始編輯,而有關他作品之文章出現在1998年六月該期刊之創刊號,也出現在許多其他藝術雜誌之中。
