1968年生於臺灣基隆，台灣師範大學美術研究所西畫創作碩士。中華亞太水彩協會正式會員、台灣國際水彩協會會員、美國水彩畫協會AWS署名會員、美國全國水彩畫協會NWS署名會員。作品近年獲得數次國際水彩獎項，並登上國際刊物如《The Art of Watercolor》和《International Artist》等歐美專業水彩繪畫雜誌專訪。2015年開始受邀至俄羅斯、中國、美國、新加坡、義大利、加拿大、墨西哥、德國、土耳其、西班牙、維也納、法國、英國…等世界各地舉辦Chien Chung Wei’s Watercolor Workshop簡忠威國際水彩高研班。
Born to Keelung, Taiwan in 1968, Chung-Wei Chien obtained his M.A. in Western Painting from the Institute of Fine Arts, NTNU. Chien is a full member of the Chinese Asia-Pacific Watercolor Association, a member to the Taiwan International Watercolor Society, a Signature Member to the American Watercolor Society, and a Signature Member to the National Watercolor Society, USA. In recent years, his artworks were recognized several times by international watercolor awards, and hit the features on the international publications of watercolor painting such as The Art of Watercolor and International Artist. In 2015, the artist began to receive invitations to Russia, China, USA, Singapore, Italy, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Turkey, Spain, Vienna, France, U.K., etc. to organize Chien Chung Wei’s Watercolor Workshop.
